She may not be starring in Bollywood films but Freida Pinto is not turning her back on her homeland movie industry.
Freida, who stars in Rise Of The Planet of The Apes move playing now in Malaysian cinemas, has announced that she would like to produce Hindi films.
The star who got her big break in Slumdog Millionaire said that she would like to return to Mumbai once she has acquired the technical skills to make a film.
Freida said: "People don't think I've done anything for India. The reason I'm doing these things outside my country is to be able to come back to India equipped with the knowledge and understanding of how to hopefully produce my own films one day."
Freida has been slammed in India for accepting film offers from Hollywood and not Bollywood. Indian trade analyst Amod Mehra said: "Freida Pinto should have cashed in on Slumdog's success and signed on a Bollywood film at that time, but she chose to do Hollywood. She is not a star in Bollywood, so she will have her fair share of struggle like any other newcomer."
Well, if no one in Bollywood wants to give Freida a good acting offer, she can write herself a role, now that she wants to produce Bollywood films.
