Newt Gingrich’s schedule released today includes stops in Hollywood,Calif., and Hawaii.
Gingrich won’t return to Iowa for more than a month. His next campaigning in Iowa will beginning Sept. 19th in Council Bluffs, said R.C. Hammond, a spokesman for the 2012 presidential candidate.
Gingrich’s campaign took hits in June after he and his wife Callista took a two-week vacation that included a Mediterranean cruise, missing key events like the Faith & Freedom Conference in Washington,D.C.that attracted other GOP candidates.
Callista Gingrich will join the former U.S. House Speaker in Hawaii. Part of the trip is in celebration of the couple’s 11th anniversary, Hammond said.
Gingrich has seen an uptick in campaign donations following his appearance in the Fox News/Iowa GOP debate last week where he accused the media of asking “gotcha” questions, Hammond said. The question asked him to explain reports that the campaign has been badly managed, noting the $1 million in debt it reported in the latest fundraising reports.
