The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Brazil!
On August 27, 2011, UFC 134 will be held at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This will be the second event that the UFC has hosted in Brazil, since 13 years ago.
It was during the UFC’s early days, last 1998 for UFC 17.5: Ultimate Brazil.
UFC 134 will be Anderson Silva’s homecoming of sorts. He will be defending his UFC Middleweight Championship title against top contender Yushin Okami.
The co-main event will feature Maurício “Shogun” Rua against Forrest Griffin. All of the other fights will feature Brazilian fighters with notable ones like Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Paulo Thiago and Raphael Assunção.
UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami will feature two preliminary fights live on Spike TV.
All the complete card of UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami including preliminary fights non broadcast in USA and preliminary fights on Spike TV will be broadcast in the Brazilian fighting sports pay per view channel “Globosat Combate” from Organizações Globo
